DBC Family,

In just a few weeks at the Well evening service, we’ll be cranking up our study in the book of Jonah, followed by Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. In preparation for those two series, we’re going to take the next couple of weeks to unpack two themes (or values) that will be recurring throughout those books… the first is that of Mission; the second is Community.

As we look at the issue of biblical mission this week, this will serve as not only a great basis for understanding a theology of mission, but also as a great exhortation for what mission can look like through the church, right here in Denton, Tx.

While we’ll be surveying a variety of texts, spend some time this weekend praying through the implications of John 17:15-18. Ask yourself what the phrase “as you have sent me into the world” implies for God’s church…
