DBC Family,

This weekend we’re going to begin our study in the book of Jonah.  To many, Jonah is probably a familiar book or story.  Even those unchurched have no doubt been exposed to storybook tales of “Jonah and the Whale” or even seen it played out on the big screen by a tomato and cucumber in a pirate ship.  

But if mined properly, this book contains a great message for our church.  Themes of grace and mercy, rebellion and repentance, love for the lost, and an overarching call to mission are laced all throughout this little book.  Over the next 4 weeks we’re going to unpack those themes and see how for many of us… Jonah’s story, really is our story.
